Environment ministers adhered to a deal on the proposal after Italy gave up demands for a fiveyear delay. Most car companies will have to shift to electric models in little more than a decade. The agreement defines member states negotiating stance for further talks with EU Parliament and European Commission. European ministers agree to delay by a year a new carbon market for heating and transport fuel. They also want to create a climate fund to help mitigate the costs of the new capandtrade program. About 150 tech startups entered the Society for Human Resource Management SHRM competition. Of that number, 60% were based in the U.S, and 40% were from other countries. The firm that won SHRMs Better Workplaces Challenge Cup competition is Vinco, an education technology firm based in Monterrey, Mexico. The platform connects employees with their specific educational needs, whether its learning English, completing a high school diploma, or advanced academic work. Pharmacy chains stick to fullyear forecasts, saying adjusted earnings per share are expected to grow at a low figure. CEO Roz Brewer said Walgreens works with suppliers to ensure prices are lower than their competitors. Walgreens net income fell to $289 million, or 33 cents per share, from $1.2 billion a year earlier. The company took a $683 million charge related to its opioid settlement with the state of Florida.Walgreens also benefited from a large amount of the Covid vaccine a year ago, resulting in reduced sales in US pharmacies.
