This feature, included in the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 3 update, may enable developers to customise status bar alerts with unique text, colours, and viewable icons without launching the app. Users may be able to see the ETA for an Uber trip or the aircraft boarding timer right on the status bar, for instance.
