Recently, the Python Package Index PyPI identified two fraudulent Python packages, "gptplus" and "claudeaieng," that purported to provide API access to the Claude AI platform from Anthropic and the GPT4 Turbo platform from OpenAI. These packages included a Java archive JAR with an infostealer named "JarkaStealer." This malware can collect data, session tokens, and screenshots from targeted systems and wellknown apps like Telegram and Discord. It is sold on the Russian Dark Web. Before being pulled offline, the packages had over 1,700 downloads and seemed legitimate despite their nefarious intent.
