On infected Linux systems, SecurityJoes, an Israeli incident response firm, found the virus. The wiper has a Windows counterpart known as BiBiWindows Wiper, and also targets Linux computers, resulting in permanent data loss. The name of the ransomware alludes to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and implies the involvement of a hacktivist organisation.
