In order to enable attackers to remain on websites, evade detection, and run remote code, cybersecurity researchers have discovered a malicious WordPress plugin masquerading as a security utility. Since its initial discovery in January 2025, the malware, known as WPantimalwarebot.php, has developed new variations. It inserts dangerous PHP code into theme headers, modifies cache plugins, and gives administrator access. If removed, the malware will reinstall itself thanks to a rogue wpcron.php file. Additionally, more recent iterations insert JavaScript advertisements from stolen domains, which may indicate click fraud or malvertising. To reduce dangers, security professionals suggest updating WordPress installations, keeping an eye on site activity, and deleting the plugin. Read More..

Numerous malicious PyPI packages have been found to exploit Gmail servers in order to carry out remote commands and exfiltrate private information. Socket cybersecurity researchers found seven packages with a total of 55,000 downloads, some of which had been in use for more than four years. By mimicking the genuine Coffin library, these packages created WebSocket tunnels and circumvented firewalls by using hardcoded Gmail credentials. This lets attackers remotely access systems, run programs, and steal files. The malware mostly targeted cryptocurrency wallets and used emails mentioning bitcoin and blockchain to advertise its activity. Experts suggest changing credentials, deleting impacted packages, and keeping an eye on odd outgoing connections. Read More..

Claude Sonnet is used for composing, revising, and testing code in the AIpowered coding assistant that Apple and Anthropic have developed and incorporated into Xcode. Apple has not yet made a decision on whether to make it publicly available after initially releasing it for internal testing. The action comes after Swift Assist, Apples prior attempt, was plagued by delayed development and hallucinations. With their sophisticated AIdriven coding tools, competitors like Google and OpenAI may be able to overtake Apple thanks to this partnership. If the assistant proves effective, it might be made available to other developers, improving Swift programming and the creation of apps for Apple products. Read More..

Microsoft advised users to switch to Microsoft Teams for improved communication and teamwork after shutting down Skype on 5th May 2025. With their current login information, Skype users can access Teams while keeping their contacts and messages intact. While new Skype Credit purchases and subscriptions have been suspended, current users are still able to use their plans through the conclusion of the payment cycle. Until they expire, Skype numbers are still valid and transferable to different carriers. Given competition from Zoom and Google Meet, Microsofts decision underscores Skypes waning relevance.
