The Cyber Resilience Act, which aims to defend internetconnected gadgets, including computers, refrigerators, mobile apps, and smart devices, against cyber attacks, has been agreed upon by legislators and EU member states. The law, which the European Commission put out in September 2021, applies to any connected goods directly or indirectly to other networks or devices. It sets cybersecurity standards to design, develop, produce, and market hardware and software products. Manufacturers must evaluate cybersecurity risks, offer conformance declarations, and resolve issues throughout the anticipated product life or for a minimum of five years. The regulations also improve reporting of cyber events and transparency.
