EvilBamboo, active at least since 2019, employed watering hole attacks to spread spyware to iOS and Android devices. POISON CARP and Earth Empusa are also terms used to refer to them. The gang has utilized Android spyware to collect data, including ActionSpy and PluginPhantom, disguised as prayer, dictionary, and keyboard apps. EvilBamboo is the source of three brandnew Android espionage tools BADBAZAAR, BADSIGNAL, and BADSOLAR.
