DeepSig and Intel have achieved a joint milestone in 5G Massive MIMO mMIMO performance in Open radio access networks RAN using Intels FlexRAN reference architecture. DeepSigs AINative OmniPHY 5G software integrates with Intel FlexRAN Layer 1 reference software and fully functions within the 5G Open Distributed Unit ODU. It offers Open RAN operators an alternative mMIMO AI solution with a lower TCO, higher data rates, and improved spectral efficiency. This resulted in the formation of Flock, which raised $17 million in a Series A round in 2021. Zego has so far raised $281.7 million to fund something similar, but Flock appears to be in Zegos rearview mirror.
