Glowforge, a startup that makes 3D laser printers, has released Magic Canvas, an image generator that uses AI to generate artwork from a single line of text. The software prepares the image for Glowforge printers, which can engrave the artwork on raw materials like wood, acrylic, or even chocolate. Glowforge has not disclosed which AI model is behind the new feature, but it has filed patents for the imagegeneration software. It assists brands in developing longterm relationships with customers and ensuring customer retention through personalised loyalty programmes. This moves the companys modified De Havilland Dash 8300 aircraft, also known as Lightning McClean, closer to taking off for the first time. The aircrafts right engine has been swapped out for a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain with an electric motor made by MagniX, a company based in Everett, Washington. The engineering work is being done by AeroTEC, and Plug Power is providing the fuel cells. If ground testing for Lightning McClean goes well, it might be released within the next few months after winning a special airworthiness certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration.
