Compact electric motors mounted in each of the three 16inch wheels produce a combined 150kW of thrust, enough for a foursecond sprint to 100km/h and a top speed of around 160km/h. Aptera claims its car weighs less than 1000 kilogrammes and has an ultralow drag design with aerodynamic efficiency comparable to solarpowered racers.
