Developers have filed a complaint against Apple in the U.S. District Court for antitrust violations. Incumbent Optus has stopped rolling out 5G networks using previous access to the 900MHz spectrum. Telstra has provided a courtenforceable undertaking to address the issue, which has been accepted by the ACCC. Before 31 January 2022, it held just 109 registrations for 900MHz sites and hadnt registered a site since 2016. Optus has won all 900MHz spectrum on offer in the ACMAs spectrum auction, and Telstra has registered assignments at 315 sites, 153 of which have been deregistered, leaving 162 still registered. The ACCC said that had the likely effect of stopping Optus from getting early access to the 900MHz sites, and therefore prevented or hindered the telco from competing in the retail mobile market.
