The digital mortgage loan process could be refinanced to customers by the end of 2022 before becoming widely available in 2023. Credit checks, financial checks, and real estate appraisals can be performed using thirdparty data sources and advanced analytics.No more looking for pay slips, bank statements, or credit card statements, says Richard Burton, managing director of Westpacs mortgage business. Borrowers must have 20% equity in their home and be on a payasyougo income to qualify for a digital loan, says Westpac chief executive David Burton. Westpac joins the likes of CBA and NAB in introducing a streamlined application process after fintech such as Tic Toc, Nano, OneTwo Home Loans, and ubank revolutionized the sector with simple applications and quick approvals.
