Auto parts maker BorgWarner Inc said on wednesday that it is acquiring Rhombus Energy Solutions, the industrys latest venture, an electric vehicle charging company, as sales of green vehicles soar. The enterprise value of the deal could be $185 million and will help it add charging stations in North America and expand in Europe, the company said. BorgWarner, a supplier to automakers such as General Motors and Ford Motor America, has focused on increasing sales of electric vehicles by 2030. Analysis shows that electric vehicle charging companies are undergoing significant consolidation and revaluation due to government incentives to encourage electric vehicle sales. BorgWarner also reported betterthanexpected quarterly results due to strong demand.
