The Bureau of Meteorology has bought a new $49.3 million supercomputer from Hewlett Packard Enterprise HPE to supplement its existing Cray XC40 supercomputer. A midterm upgrade of the hardware will double the computing and storage capacity of the bureaus existing HPC by 2020.
