The first significant language model, "FoxBrain," was introduced by Taiwans Foxconn to enhance supply chain and industrial management. Based on Metas Llama 3.1 architecture, FoxBrain was trained over four weeks on 120 Nvidia H100 GPUs tailored for Taiwanese and traditional Chinese language usage. Although it lags a little behind Chinas DeepSeek approach, Foxconn says its performance is on par with toptier standards. FoxBrain facilitates data analysis, decisionmaking, document collaboration, mathematics, reasoning, and code production and was first developed for internal usage. Foxconn intends to increase applications through partnerships, and training was aided by Nvidias Taiwanbased supercomputer "Taipei1." Nvidias GTC conference in midMarch will provide more information. Elon Musk blamed a massive hack, potentially including a nationstate or a coordinated group, for Mondays sporadic failures on the social networking site X. According to Downdetector, around 10 A.M. ET, 39,021 customers in the US experienced peak disruptions by 5 P.M., that number had decreased to just 1,500. An internet infrastructure source confirmed multiple waves of denialofservice DoS attacks hitting X from different worldwide IP addresses, refuting Musks assertion that the attacks originated in Ukraine. Cybersecurity experts challenged Musks claim that tiny organisations frequently carry out DoS assaults. Musks remarks align with his previous roles as an adviser to former US President Donald Trump and his continuous condemnation of Ukraine. Read More..

Elon Musks AI company, xAI, has purchased a onemillionsquarefoot property in Southwest Memphis, Tennessee, to increase its AI infrastructure. With the goal of housing at least one million GPUs, xAI announced intentions to scale its Colossus supercomputer in December, which was followed by this investment. In light of mounting tensions with CEO Sam Altman, Musk is using the move as part of his strategy to take on AI competitors like OpenAI. According to the Memphis Chamber, Colossus is moving closer to "supercluster" proportions. Although energy use has drawn criticism from environmental groups, xAIs facility features the largest Tesla Megapack deployment for data centres worldwide and a $80 million water recycling plant. Tesla intends to construct a Megapack energy storage facility of comparable capacity in Texas. Read More..

Microsoft Develops MAI AI Models to Compete with OpenAI

To rival OpenAI and lessen dependency on its longtime partner, Microsoft is creating its own AI reasoning model, known as MAI. Under Mustafa Suleymans

To rival OpenAI and lessen dependency on its longtime partner, Microsoft is creating its own AI reasoning model, known as MAI. Under Mustafa Suleymans leadership, the AI team is testing its trained models in Copilot and has seen them outperform OpenAI and Anthropic in benchmarks. Additionally, Microsoft is considering models from DeepSeek, Meta, and xAI as possible OpenAI substitutes. The corporation wants to diversify its AI strategy for cost reductions and independence, especially with Microsoft 365 Copilot. When solving complicated problems, the MAI models use chainofthought reasoning. Microsoft might make them available to developers later this year as an API, which would signal a change in strategy in the AI competition. OpenAI has not addressed the development in any way.
