A South African man and his company are facing civil charges from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission CFTC for running a fraudulent commodity pool with bitcoin worth over US $1.7 billion R28 billion. Charges were brought by the CFTC against Cornelius Johannes Steynberg, the CEO of Mirror Trading International. To ostensibly run a commodity pool, the company asked for thousands of peoples bitcoins online.
