Users may soon be able to contact Gemini AIs chatbot through headphones, eliminating the need for smartphones. With code lines mentioning "Talk to Gemini on earbuds" and "assistant bisto Gemini on buds notification," evidence from Google app version 15.31 implies that users might communicate with Gemini directly through their headphones. Gemini AI might be accessible handsfree thanks to this connection, replacing Google Assistants builtin activation prompted by words like "OK, Google." The functionality previously alluded to in Google app test versions is almost ready for release. This action aligns with Googles overarching plan to increase Gemini AIs capability throughout its network of devices. Read More..

This months security upgrades for Android tackle 46 vulnerabilities, one of which is a highseverity remote code execution RCE weakness that has been used in deliberate assaults. The Linux kernels network route management contains a useafterfree vulnerability that requires system execution rights to exploit. Threat actors can modify the behaviours of network connections through it, which might lead to the arbitrary execution of malware on unpatched devices without user intervention. Google has confirmed that this vulnerability has been intentionally exploited and is trying to fix it. In August, the business provided two security upgrades, including remedies for this and other problems. While patches for Google Pixel smartphones are released quickly, other manufacturers can take longer to release these fixes. Read More..

Samsungs HBM3E Chips Pass Nvidias AI Processor Tests, Poised for Q4 2024 Deliveries

The passage of Nvidias testing for usage in AI processors by Samsung Electronics fifthgeneration High Bandwidth Memory HBM3E chips is a critical step

The passage of Nvidias testing for usage in AI processors by Samsung Electronics fifthgeneration High Bandwidth Memory HBM3E chips is a critical step towards Samsungs competition with SK Hynix in the market for advanced memory chips. Delivery of the supply agreement is anticipated by Q4 2024. The 12layer HBM3E chips still require certification, though. AI GPUs use HBM technology, which improves data processing by stacking chips to conserve space and power. This certification came amid growing GPU demand driven by artificial intelligence AI after Samsung resolved prior heat and power concerns. According to TrendForce, HBM3E will rule the market this year, and by Q4 2024, Samsung wants these chips to account for 60% of its HBM sales. Read More..

Common Industrial Protocol CIP instructions might be executed by attackers using a highseverity security bypass vulnerability in Rockwell Automation ControlLogix 1756 devices. The vulnerability enables ControlLogix controllers to circumvent the Trusted Slot function, possibly altering user projects or device settings. The flaw, which Claroty found, allows attackers to transmit malicious commands to the PLC CPU by circumventing security barriers through CIP routing. This problem necessitates network access to the device, but it also has the potential to download arbitrary logic to the CPU. Updated versions of the impacted goods have fixed the bug. Security expert Sharon Brizinov said unsecured chassis slots might provide unauthorised access to crucial control systems. Read More..

Distraction Control is a brandnew Safari feature included in Apples most recent iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia betas. To improve their surfing experience, users may use this function to turn off particular website components, such as overlays and popups for signin. Distraction Control is a feature that allows users to select objects to conceal via page refreshes manually, provided that the item remains unchanged. It is accessible through the Page Menu interface. Ads will still appear when the website loads, so its not an ad blocker. Distraction Control acts like popups are manually closed, regardless of whether cookies are accepted or denied. The same menu allows users to unhide things. Developer beta testers can try this functionality now, and a public beta and full release are planned for next month. Read More..
