An investigation into a May 20 data breach at Live Nation Entertainments Ticketmaster division was revealed. Unauthorised activity in a thirdparty cloud database holding Ticketmaster data was the source of the hack. According to reports, the cybercrime collective ShinyHunters took credit for the incident, claiming to have stolen information from over 500 million Ticketmaster users. ShinyHunters should have been mentioned by Live Nation in their SEC report. The violation occurs amidst continuous regulatory examination due to antitrust issues the US government has filed lawsuits against Live Nation and Ticketmaster for purportedly increasing the cost of concert tickets.
