The European Union is considering extending the scope of its planned cybersecurity labelling regulations to include banks, airlines and big internet corporations like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. The most recent initiative from the European Unions cybersecurity agency ENISA centres on an EU certification scheme EUCS that validates cloud services cybersecurity and sets standards for choosing EUbased suppliers. The proposal keeps the clauses that mandate that US IT behemoths establish a joint venture with an EUbased business, run and manage cloud services out of the EU, and store and handle consumer data within the EU.
