According to Nikkei, Apple Inc. is asking its suppliers to begin producing some AirPods and Beats headphones in India. Foxconn, which builds Apple iPhones, is getting ready to produce Beats headphones in India. According to the report, Apple will assist Luxshare Precision Industry, a Chinese supplier to the iPhone manufacturer, in producing AirPODS in India. A portion of the iPhones production has been moved by the tech giant from China to other markets, including India. Amid lockdowns related to COVID in China and simmering tensions between Washington and Beijing, contract manufacturers supplying American brands are increasingly turning to India and other nations like Mexico and Vietnam.
