Nigerias Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has stated that Nigerias goal is to populate a major database of digital IDs. Digital ID systems should be biometricsbased, he said. He was speaking at the ID4 Africa Augmented General Meeting in Marrakesh, Morocco. Nigerias Commissioner for Information and Communications Technology Pantami has said the importance of digital identity cannot be estimated. Most of the U.N Sustainable Development Goals cannot be fully achieved without countries setting up working digital ID systems.
