It started operating in 2017 at the latest. A recent Android spyware campaign that targeted Arabicspeaking users of a fake dating app has been linked to Arid Viper. The operators of the mobile malware may have a connection to the nonmalicious dating programme Skipped, or they may have imitated some of its features to trick consumers.
