Indias space agency announced a collaboration with SpaceX to launch a communications satellite through its commercial arm, NewSpace India Ltd NSIL. GSAT20 is a highcapacity satellite designed to improve broadband connectivity in India, especially in rural and isolated areas. The Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX will be used for the launch, slated for the second quarter of this year. With a weight of 4,700 kg, the GSAT20 satellite weighs more than the existing record of 4,000 kg set by Indias ISRO space agency for spacecraft launches.
