As the demand for electric cars is anticipated to increase in the future years, the Kenyan electric mobility startup BasiGo has teamed with the Associated Vehicle Assemblers Ltd AVA to construct its buses in Mombasa. Over 1,000 electric buses are expected to be produced by the companies over the next three years, adding over 300 employment in manufacture, charging, maintenance, and finance. As part of the agreement, AVA will build 33seater buses in place of the 25seater buses it previously employed for its trial operation. BasiGo is dedicated to providing Kenyanmade electric buses that are fully manufactured there.
