The issuance of green debentures of R$ 2 billion with a fiveyear maturity has been announced by Scala Data Centers. The deal is the biggest ever made in Brazil and the original of its type in the data centre industry. The offerings proceeds will be used to fund Scalas expansion strategy, which is already under way and entirely driven by environmentally friendly measures. Instead of sustainability linked bonds, Scala, a Brazilian cloud computing business, raised more than R$ 4.5 billion through green debentures SLBs. The business already offsets its carbon footprints and runs on 100% certified renewable energy.
