In 2020, Egyptian entrepreneurs Ahmed Khairy CEO, Ahmed El Assy CPO, and Omar Alfar launched Gameball, a customer intelligence and marketing CRM platform CTO. It assists brands in developing longterm relationships with customers and ensuring customer retention through personalised loyalty programmes. The $3.5 million seed funding comes from 500 Global, P1 Ventures, and Launch Africa and Middle East VCs Seedra Ventures, Arzan Ventures, Propeller, and Core Vision. At Grant County International Airport in Moses Lake, Washington, Universal Hydrogen has finished its initial taxi tests and received a critical certification from regulators. This moves the companys modified De Havilland Dash 8300 aircraft, also known as Lightning McClean, closer to taking off for the first time. The aircrafts right engine has been swapped out for a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain with an electric motor made by MagniX, a company based in Everett, Washington. The engineering work is being done by AeroTEC, and Plug Power is providing the fuel cells. If ground testing for Lightning McClean goes well, it might be released within the next few months after winning a special airworthiness certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration.
