It brings the key overnight borrowing rate to 3.25 percent effective Thursday, its governor Felipe Medalla said. The move comes ahead of the BSPs regular monetary policy meeting on August 18 and follows two backtoback rate hikes of 25 basis points each in May and June. Inflation in the Philippines rose to its highest level in nearly four years in June and is expected to remain high.
