A serious flaw in SAPs S/4HANA ERP suite, identified as CVE202542957, has been fixed. The flaw allowed attackers to inject ABAP code and use Remote Function Calls RFCs to go beyond authorisation. The vulnerability was found by SecurityBridge researchers, who cautioned that it has already been used in a few limited attacks and allows complete system takeover. Many systems are still vulnerable because they have not been patched, even after the August 11 patch was made available. Numerous SAP products, including NetWeaver and Business One, are impacted by the vulnerability. It is said to be simple to reverse engineer the remedy, which raises worries about potential abuse.
