Multiple AI models can work together on challenging tasks according to an opensource approach called ABMCTS Adaptive Branching Monte Carlo Tree Search by Sakana AI. In contrast to conventional inference techniques, ABMCTS makes a dynamic decision on whether to think more deeply, investigate a larger range, or choose the model that best fits a particular problem. Several models, such as DeepSeekR1, o4mini, and Gemini 2.5 Pro, can be deployed to cooperate if necessary. Combining the advantages of each model while reducing their particular biases improves performance. When tested on the ARCAGI2 benchmark, the systems success rate increased from 23% to 27.5%, outperforming standalone models.
