Intel’s new processor, set to be launched in December will be capable of running a generative artificial intelligence chatbot on a laptop rather than relying on cloud data centres for computational capacity. Intel is scheduled to launch a successor chip dubbed "Arrow Lake" next year, and that Intels manufacturing technique will compete with that of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Developers will operate a version of a big language model, technology similar to the one powering products like Meta Platforms ChatGPT. This allows the chatbot to respond faster and prevents data from leaving the device. Intel’s new chip, ‘Meteor Lake’, set to be launched on 14th December will be its first CPU with different chips for each component and will also have a dedicated AI coprocessor inside. Read More..
