A fuel cell works like a conventional battery in an electric vehicle but does not need to be charged with electricity. They combine hydrogen and oxygen atoms to produce electricity. Electric vehicles equipped with hydrogen fuel cells do not produce exhaust gases. That is, it emits only water vapor and hot air.
