A popular YouTuber from Lithuania named Michael Nacke was charged under a recent Russian law that forbids criticizing the military actions taking place in Ukraine. According to the human rights organization OVDInfo, more than 16,300 Russians have been arrested for speaking out against the war. According to a series of interviews and Russian court documents obtained by Bloomberg News, Nacke is one of several Russianborn social media influencers who reside outside of the country who Moscow is attempting to censor through a combination of criminal charges and pressure on technology companies. Hong Kong lawmakers are tightening regulations on virtual asset service providers VASPs amid updates to its AntiMoney Laundering and CounterTerrorist Financing Amendment Bill of 2022. VASPs will be required to obtain a license from the Securities and Futures Commission. Hong Kongs Securities and Futures Commission SFC will be able to find virtual asset service providers VASPs for up to HK$5 million US$640,000 and jail them for up to seven years. The bill was gazetted on June 26, but no date has been set to pass the law.
